Why "Price per Camera" Is Misleading
In a security camera system the camera is only one link in the chain. The device that records the footage, the disks that store it, the cabling and the network infrastructure also count towards the budget. Multiplying the number of cameras by a unit price therefore often gives an incomplete result.
How Is the Price Set?
The price is set according to the scope of the quote. Once the items below are clear, we prepare a free quote tailored to your needs.
Items That Set the Cost
- Number and type of cameras: Fixed, dome, PTZ or thermal options.
- Resolution and image quality: The need for high resolution, night vision and wide angle.
- Recording time and disk capacity: How many days of footage are kept directly raises the disk requirement.
- Cabling and infrastructure: Distance, cable routes, a PoE switch and wireless links where needed.
- Recorder or server: An NVR or server suited to the camera count and analytics load.
- Analytics features: Smart analytics such as motion, perimeter breach or person detection.
- Alarm and system integration: Working together with alarms, access control and other systems.
- Remote viewing and maintenance: Viewing from a phone or computer, and a regular maintenance agreement.
Recording Time and Retention
How long recordings are kept affects both cost and compliance. The longer the period, the greater the disk requirement. When setting the retention period, it is right to consider your organisation's needs and the relevant regulations, and to take legal advice where necessary.
How Does the Process Work?
- Survey: Inspecting the site on location and identifying blind spots.
- Design: Camera positions, cabling and the recording plan.
- Installation: Mounting and configuring the devices.
- Training: Briefing users on monitoring and searching recordings.
- Maintenance: Regular checks and support when needed.
Example Scenarios
The scenarios below show how scope changes the price; the exact amount is set after a survey and quote.
Small business
A few IP cameras for the entrance, till and storeroom, one recorder and phone viewing. With short cable runs installation is quick.
Factory or industrial-zone site
Many cameras for production, perimeter and car park, PoE switches, a recording server and alarm integration. In our dairy plant case study 240 camera points were integrated.
Spread-out land
Farms or construction sites need wireless links and backup of recordings to a second point; in our farm case study recordings were backed up 10 km away.
What's Included?
- Free site survey and design
- Installation and configuration of cameras, recorder and network equipment
- Phone and computer viewing setup
- User training
What Is Charged Separately?
- Additional cabling and building work outside the scope
- Cameras and disks added later
- Maintenance agreement (optional)
- VAT
Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT; the Turkish lira equivalent is stated in the quote at the exchange rate on the quote date.
What to Check When Comparing Quotes
Looking only at the total can mislead. Put quotes from different companies side by side with these questions:
- Are camera resolution, night-vision range and lens angle stated?
- Are retention days and disk capacity specified?
- Are cabling, mounting and configuration labour included?
- Are fault response time and warranty terms clear?

How many days are recordings kept?
It depends on disk capacity and your needs; we plan the retention period together, with KVKK in mind.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?
Yes, remote viewing is included; permissions are set per user.
Is the survey charged?
No, the survey and quote are free.
