In Prototyping, the Part Sets the Price

In 3D prototyping, cost starts with the part itself: its size, material, how many are needed and whether the design is ready. Once these are clear, time and price become clear too.

Starting Price

Urasys prices for 3D prototyping and design services start at $100 + VAT (as of October 2026). The final amount is set by a quote prepared for your needs according to the items below; quotes are free of charge.

Items That Set the Price

  • Part size: Print volume and time grow with size.
  • Material: Filament or resin type suited to the use.
  • Quantity: A single prototype or a small batch?
  • Design need: A ready model or a CAD-based design from scratch?
  • Precision and surface: Layer resolution and post-processing needs.
  • Functional testing: Whether the part will go through fit or strength tests.

Why Does a Prototype Save Money?

Getting a real copy of the part before moving to mass production reveals mould or production errors early. The prototype cost can thus prevent bigger costs later on.

Have This Ready When Asking for a Quote

  • A 3D model file or technical drawing, if available
  • The part size and intended use
  • The quantity needed
  • Expected delivery time

Example Scenarios

The scenarios below show how scope changes the price; the exact amount is set after a survey and quote.

Single prototype

One part printed from a ready model or measurements; size, material and infill set the price. 3D prototyping and printing starts at $100 + VAT.

Spare part

Measuring and modelling a plastic part that is no longer made, then printing it in a durable material; modelling time is added to the price.

Small batch

Several copies of the same part; unit cost falls as quantity rises, and print time sets the schedule.

What's Included?

  • File check or modelling (depending on scope)
  • Material and printing
  • Support removal and basic finishing
  • Dimensional check before delivery

What Is Charged Separately?

  • Extra design revisions outside the scope
  • Advanced finishing such as painting or coating
  • Shipping
  • VAT

Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT; the Turkish lira equivalent is stated in the quote at the exchange rate on the quote date.

What to Check When Comparing Quotes

Looking only at the total can mislead. Put quotes from different companies side by side with these questions:

  • Are material type and infill stated in the quote?
  • Is the modelling fee shown separately from printing?
  • Are dimensional tolerance and the number of test prints specified?
  • Is the model file handed to you at delivery?

How We Work

  1. Needs analysis and survey: We review the current situation on site or remotely and clarify the need together.
  2. Design and quote: A quote covering scope, equipment and timeline is prepared.
  3. Installation and testing: The system is installed as planned and tested before going live.
  4. Training: Managers and users learn how to use the system.
  5. Maintenance and support: Regular maintenance and intervention when needed keep the system up to date.

With 8 years of experience and more than 500 projects, we provide same-day on-site or remote service across Türkiye and Northern Cyprus.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have no 3D file — what now?

We can model from a dimensioned drawing, photos or a sample part.

Which materials are used?

Chosen by purpose: visual prototypes, durable functional parts or flexible parts each have suitable materials.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on part size, quantity and modelling needs; the quote states it.

Can I test before mass production?

Yes — that is what prototypes are for: try form and fit without investing in a mould.
